Our story

CPH Management Consulting Club was founded in 2010 by three International Business students from CBS who identified a need for students to gain insight into the management consulting industry prior to entering the job market. They formed CPH MCC and gained a lot of traction and success at a rapid pace. This meant that the trio soon became a structured team of volunteers as more hands were needed to keep the initiative going. The concept back then was to have a handful of top tier consultancies on a signed contract who would participate in events for an exclusive  club of CBS students who were vetted through a comprehensive process to get their certificate of membership - or “quality stamp” if you will.

Over the years, DTU, ITU, and KU became official partners of the organization and have played a vital role in expanding and creating awareness of CPH MCC’s services to students of those universities. The events during a semester were pretty similar and predictable: the same consultancies would take part in the same event one semester following the next, which made CPH MCC interesting only for members’ first few semesters, after which the events would be too similar for members to participate again.

Big changes happened during summer 2019 as CPH MCC stepped away from the exclusive members’ club model and discontinued signing contracts with consultancies. This move made CPH MCC more flexible as it allows for collaboration with consultancies that are fit for a specific event rather than being limited to what former partners demanded. The same goes for the students interested in the specific event – we have the freedom to pick and choose which students are of greater interest for the specific consultancy we are partnering with.

A lot has happened since 2010, but one mission has remained throughout: we want to prepare students for a career in management consulting by providing value-adding events with top tier consultancies by our side. In practice, this has transpired in a variation of formats like case workshops, skill seminars, company visits, and social gatherings to name a few. Today, CPH MCC brands itself as an organization that hosts and specializes in networking focused events where students get to interact with consultants rather than passively listening to a generic presentation of the consultancy. We like to believe this is what differentiates us from our competitors. As long as the consultancies are on the hunt for skill and the students want to meet them, we have a solid product in our platform where the two can meet.

Today, CPH Management Consulting Club’s team consists of 20-ish students representing a great mix of CBS, KU, DTU, and ITU students with many different nationalities and backgrounds. We are proud to be a dynamic organization with a great social atmosphere where all team members can get hands-on experience within their specific area of interest. Diversity, professionalism, and our fun personalities are the glue that keeps our team together. We are all high performers interested in ick-starting our career in the best way possible, and are committed to helping each-other succeed – be it in management consulting or other industries, be it during our studies or post-graduation.
